I have several knitting projects going at one time to keep from getting bored. I just finished a hat for Jenny made from Noro yarn. Alas, it is too small so I will be ripping it out for the second time. Grrr. Another project is a pair of socks. The yarn is multi shades of earthy green in merino wool. So far I have knit past the heel of the first sock.

This is a lace scarf that I am working on. The yarn is a blend of kid mohair and linen. The pattern has been very challenging and I have ripped out many rows because the stitch count wasn’t coming out right. The woman that wrote the pattern has been very helpful. We have emailed back and forth several times.

Here is the hat that I had to take out and knit again. It ended up too small for Jenny so It now belongs to Pearl.

Here it is December and I haven’t posted all month. I have been knitting lots and reading knitting blogs and watching knitting you tubes. I keep searching for an easy way to purl continental style.
I’m still searching. I knit mostly with the working yarn in my right hand but I like to knit continental style to keep from getting carpel tunnel syndrome.
I am a fan of Cat Bordhi and plan to make one of her möbius scarves. I also have her leaf and tendril sock pattern waiting to be knit but it looks very daunting.
Some more projects that I have completed or am working on.

I decided to try knitting lace socks. The first pair were red ones from a pattern by Cat Bordhi.
They were rather complicated and I did quite a bit of ripping out. You really need to concentrate.
I finished that pair and bought some pink sock yarn that has a bit of cashmere in it. So soft!
When I finished one pink sock, I bought more sock yarn in a violet shade plus new lace knitting
Needles. This sock is finished and now I need to knit their mates.

  • Katharine, I want you to explain the gray sweater to me sometime. Right now, it looks like it’s going to have four arms and I’m sure that’s not right! Although maybe you’ve been holding back on us and that’s how you get so many projects done!
