Last week I visited the Japanese Gardens with my sketcher friends. I sketched this little stone pagoda and then did the color work in gouache after I came home. We weren’t allowed to use any watercolor media in the Gardens. The day was perfect and everything was lush and green

Reading in wicker rocker
Published September 7, 2014 by penandpopcornI dug out old tubes of gouache paints after seeing some gouache artwork on YouTube . Some of the tubes were dried up and one was really stinky but I manages to squeeze out enough to do this little postcard. This is a copy of part of a Rie Munoz painting that I cut out of a magazine . I’ve always loved her artwork and had the good fortune to meet her at an art gallery in Nehalem several years ago. She’s a lovely and friendly lady.
