Stone pagoda

Published September 10, 2014 by penandpopcorn

Last week I visited the Japanese Gardens with my sketcher friends. I sketched this little stone pagoda and then did the color work in gouache after I came home. We weren’t allowed to use any watercolor media in the Gardens. The day was perfect and everything was lush and green

Reading in wicker rocker

I dug out old tubes of gouache paints after seeing some gouache artwork on YouTube . Some of the tubes were dried up and one was really stinky but I manages to squeeze out enough to do this little postcard. This is a copy of part of a Rie Munoz painting that I cut out of a magazine . I’ve always loved her artwork and had the good fortune to meet her at an art gallery in Nehalem several years ago. She’s a lovely and friendly lady.
